Customers (Explorers) Terms
Rules, booking protocols, payment security, and cancellation rights for customers seeking local services.
1. Account Creation & Explorer Profiles
To use getpointa as a customer (also referred to as an 'Explorer'), you must register for an account using your legal name, a valid email address, and an active phone number capable of receiving SMS or WhatsApp messages.
You agree to provide true, accurate, and current information. You are solely responsible for updating your contact details if they change. All notifications regarding confirmations, changes, and reminders will be sent to the contact info provided.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Any activity or booking initiated through your account is deemed your responsibility. If you suspect unauthorized access, you must notify support@getpointa.ng immediately.
Create an account with accurate info, verify your WhatsApp/phone number, and keep your login secure. You are responsible for all bookings made under your account.
2. Booking Appointments & Confirmations
getpointa enables you to browse local services (beauty, wellness, professional) and schedule appointments in real-time. By selecting a time slot and completing the checkout process, you enter into a direct agreement with the service provider.
Certain businesses require a commitment deposit (typically ranging between ₦500 and ₦5,000) to confirm your slot. This deposit is processed instantly and held securely. The outstanding balance is payable in person directly to the business after your service is completed.
Once confirmed, getpointa will dispatch an automated confirmation via WhatsApp and email. These messages serve as proof of scheduling and contain instructions on rescheduling, location guidance, and arrival policies.
Select services and secure slots by paying deposits if required. Checkouts create legally binding appointments. Reminders will be sent via WhatsApp.
3. Deposit Payments & Security Standards
All deposit transactions on getpointa are handled securely by our integrated, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways, Paystack and Flutterwave. We utilize industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit and AES-256 for data at rest.
getpointa does not store raw credit card numbers or banking passwords. Your payment profile is heavily tokenized, ensuring your financial information remains fully protected.
As a customer, getpointa charges you ₦0 in platform booking fees. The price you see is set directly by the business. Any payment processing charges are absorbed by getpointa or the business, never passed to you.
Payments are processed securely via Paystack/Flutterwave. getpointa never stores raw card details, and there are no extra booking fees for customers.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refund Rules
You can cancel or reschedule any booking directly via 'My Bookings' page in your Explorer panel. To receive a full refund of your deposit, you must cancel at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the appointment, or fail to show up ('No-Show'), the business reserves the right to retain your deposit in full to cover lost time and slot vacancy.
In the event that the business owner cancels your booking, getpointa will issue an immediate notification and process a 100% refund of your deposit to your original payment method within 3 to 5 business days.
Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to get a full deposit refund. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit the deposit. If the business cancels, you get a 100% refund.
5. Customer Conduct & Abuse Prevention
We strive to build a healthy, reliable local marketplace. You agree to utilize the platform in good faith. Making multiple overlapping bookings or scheduling fake appointments ('booking flooding') is strictly prohibited.
You are expected to arrive on time for your scheduled appointments. If you are running late, you must contact the business directly. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in slot forfeiture without a deposit refund.
Abusive behavior, harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct toward business staff during appointments will not be tolerated. getpointa reserves the right to block your IP and permanently terminate your account for policy violations.
Be reliable, show up on time, and treat business staff with respect. Repeated no-shows, fake bookings, or hostile behavior will get your account permanently suspended.
